Morocco Pens, in conjunction with the Path Ahead workshops of the American Language Center of Agadir, is pleased to announce an engaging short presentation by Iskandar Soekardi entitled “The Subtle Depths of Silence” this Sunday, February 28th at 4:45 pm. The event will be held at the ALC Community Center in the Battoir neighborhood of Agadir.
Soekardi, a former radio DJ, slam and eclectic poetry host, frontman of a soundscape band, doorman, music journalist, editor, Greco-Roman wrestling champion, pre-K to 12th-grade teacher, dishwasher, salesperson, and library monk, is currently a full-time English teacher at ALC Agadir, a homeschooling advocate, and a lover of the land of BuQanadil. He will share some personal anecdotes, read and comment on modern and classical poetry, and peruse a chapter from a 10th-century text on spiritual etiquette entitled the Epistle of Qushayri.
The street address for the ALC Community Center is 123 Rue Fes, on the same road as Cinema Salaam and the new mosque of Battoir.
